Day
7
- Portobelo - After a lazy morning, check out of the resort
and board your waiting boat for the short trip back to
the mainland. Your waiting motor coach will take you from
the landing to the historic town of Portobelo. Named in
1502 by Christopher Columbus, Portobelo became one of
the most important ports for the Spanish in the New World.
Several forts were constructed in this area to protect
the gold and silver looted by the Conquistadors in South
America. These forts are remarkably well preserved and
your interpretive guide will explain the history and significance
of the area. Your motor coach continues on to Panama City
where you'll spend the night at the luxurious Bristol
Hotel. (Meals - Breakfast and Lunch).
