Isla
Paridita and the Lost Islands of Baru
Imagine
a vacation holiday on your own private tropical island, where
breathtaking beaches and crystal clear, blue-green waters
frame your personal piece of paradise. Where exotic birds
soar overhead and whales pass by close to shore. Where the
only sounds you hear are the crashing of the waves and the
sounds of nature in the forest. Now, by a special arrangement,
Panama Travel Experts is offering an exclusive vacation experience
to Isla Paridita, an incredible, remote island on Panama's
Pacfic coast, less
than 40 miles from the border with Costa Rica.
Your
vacation begins with your arrival at Panama City's international
airport, where you'll be met by one of our bilingual guide/drivers
and transferred by private vehicle to the Westin Caesar Park
Hotel. After check-in, relax and enjoy the resort atmosphere
of this deluxe hotel during your first night in Panama. The
hotel features a European-style casino and four outstanding
restaurants, all set in a lush tropical setting.
Early
the next morning your driver will pick you up at the hotel
and take you to Panama City's domestic airport for your one-hour
flight to David, the capital
of Panama's Chiriqui Province and the access point for the
beautiful Gulf of Chiriqui. Isla Paridita is a private island
situated in the most scenic and pristine area of Panama's
Pacific coastline. The first landfall when traveling from
Costa Rica, Isla Paradita is one of 50 small, remote islands
located in the Gulf of Chiriqui and part of Panama's national
park system. Remote, but now accessible, this area remains
one of the last unspoiled destinations on earth. Upon arrival
in David you'll be met by the American managers of the island
and taken by taxi to Pedregal, a small marina just 5 minutes
from the airport,
for your boat transfer to Isla Paridita. Your adventure starts
on the Chiriqui River, winding through a maze of ancient mangroves
and small, uninhabited islands. This amazing
environment is home to a staggering number of bird species
and you'll see local fishermen plying their craft in the rich
waters of the estuary. After crossing the river mouth, a short
15-minute ride takes you to the coast of Isla Parida, an island
of spectacular beaches and small rocky islets. After about
20 minutes of traveling through the sheltered waters along
the island, you arrive at Isla Paridita, your private tropical
escape.
The
island was designed to be self sustaining and environmentally
friendly. Each of the five thatched, palapa style bungalows
are strategically placed to take advantage of the cooling
breezes that come off the ocean most evenings. Electricity
is provided by a state-of-the-art photovoltaic solar energy
system utilizing low consumption lights and appliances throughout
the resort. The island's sophisticated water system rivals
the quality of the best bottled water in the world. The 125-acre
island boasts five private beaches, each with its own unique
characteristics. The bluffs along the island provide spectacular
views of the surrounding Gulf of Chiriqui. The waters of this
area are thought to be the only part of the world where humpback
whales from the northern and southern hemispheres come together
to mate. The small islands of the gulf have some of the best
kayaking, snorkeling and fishing in all of Central America.
All this just minutes from your private island get-away. If
you're looking for a truly unique travel experience, a place
where few people have visited before (yet less than 2 hours
from a modern city), then you should make plans to come to
Isla Paradita! Your stay at Isla Paridita includes exclusive
use of the island; all meals and non-alcoholic beverages;
boat transfers to/from the airport in David; daily use of
boat with captain for snorkeling, island exploring or fishing
and use of kayaks.
